Job Purpose:

The Environment Modeler creates backgrounds 3D models basing his work on approved design tables. He must be able to interpret the shapes, volumes and textures provided in the tables.

He works closely with the design team, supervisors and directors to ensure assets meet specifications. In his daily work he focuses on detailed landscapes and sets creation, suitable for production both technically and artistically, managing his assets and his time efficiently to meet production deadlines.

 

Essential Duties and Required Skills:

• Thorough knowledge of 3D Modelling and Sculpting for high quality assets creation

• Strong knowledge of Maya Modeling tools (knowledge of Sculpting software is a plus)

• Basic knowledge of shading techniques using simple shading networks

• Thorough knowledge of topology solutions

• Assets retopology knowledge that meet animation and rigging requirements

• Knowledge of UV mapping and texturing methodologies is essential

• Technical and quality control on assigned assets

• Troubleshoot common technical issues

Job Purpose:

The Texture Artist creates Textures Maps for 3D models basing his work on approved design tables. He must be able to interpret the textures and the brushes used in the tables.

He works closely with the Art Director to ensure assets meet the required look. He must also be able to create efficient and optimal UV layout for texture painting. He must be familiar with creating specular, bump, displacement and normal maps.

He should be able to managing his time efficiently to meet production deadlines without compromising artistic integrity.

 

Essential Duties and Required Skills:

• Knowledge of industry standard 3D Paint software

• Excellent working knowledge of Texturing in Maya

• Knowledge of UV mapping and Texturing methodologies is essential

• Understanding of light, color, materials shading and surfacing

• Thorough attention to detail

• Texturing and shading experience would be taken into consideration
